Syncope E-Learning Modules

The syncope e-learning modules are listed below. The e-learning modules containt high quality, in-depth information about short term blood pressure regulation and syncope. All the tutorials were read and edited by the editorial board of Syncopedia (see About) and thus high quality is guaranteed.

There are three syncope e-learning modules, each focussed on a different audience. If you’re a medical student, or if you’re new to this field, we recommend to start with the e-learning module for medical students.

To diagnose patients with syncope, knowledge of the physiology of short term blood pressure regulation is necessary, as it is an impaired regulation of short term blood pressure that causes syncope. The module for medical students starts with cases and works backwards to the physiology behind the case. The module for syncope specialists works the other way around.

The module for blood donor physicians is a stand-alone module. This module was made in cooperation with Donor Heath Care, and is specifically made for blood donor physicians. Syncope is the most common complication of blood donation, but the causes, measures to prevent it, and timing of the events differs.
